Placeholder 03: The Overestimation Contagion

Placeholder is a podcast dedicated to, and produced for, the supporting members of our Patreon community. We’re proud to offer episode one to all, and we invite you to hear more by becoming a patron today.

I read a piece on the web the other day citing a now-famous passage attributed to Bill Gates. The passage got me thinking. But first it got me mad. Then, it got me thinking again.

This week, I'm thinking all about how much we accomplish whilst we are working to try and accomplish even more, and the gap that exists between those two points that makes us feel bad. Thankfully, Keep Productive host and app developer Francesco D'Alessio joins me to talk about his new app, Bento, which fits so handily into the way I'm thinking about using my own task system it makes my eyeballs hurt.

You can learn more about The Bento Method here. Give it a go, but only if you're on iOS for now. Everyone else, take a look at your own task systems and give it a think whether you can trim down the big rocks you're trying to lift every day to make them more digestible.

As ever, thanks for your support, and double-thanks for keeping a spot open in your lives for the Placeholder.
